"The truth is that information about information is more important
than information itself". So said Nicholas Negroponte, unanimously
considered the most far-sighted connoisseur of the new media - the new
forms of comunication which, silently and overwhelmingly, are
transforming our habitual modes of communication. We agree with him
so much that we have dedicated a section exclusively to information
technology in order to explore together and seek to better understand
where it comes from and where it's going. This and many other
innovations you will find in the pages of this summer issue of In
Sardegna which, despite inevitable difficulties, continues to grow and
improve, mainly thanks to our collaborators. I would like, therefore,
to take this opportunity to thank the new director Antonello Aime who,
with little time at his disposition, has done an excellent job of
coordinating the journalists' work, the graphics, the photographs and
the editing. Once again he has shown his worth in presenting for you
more pages, more colour, more information and naturally more
Sardinia.
